NIGHTWISH
In mai 1997 Nightwish a semnat un contract cu Spinefarm pentru doua discuri. In august Nightwish a inregistrat la studio patru cantece noi. Inainte de aparitia albumului Angels Fall First, un single numit The Carpenter a aparut pe piata si a urcat pana pe locul opt in topul oficial al single-urilor din Finlanda. Angells Fall Firs a aparut in noiembrie si a ajuns pe locul 31 in topul oficial al albumelor din Finlanda.
Primul concert al formatiei Nightwish a fost in Kitee, la data de 31 decembrie 1997. Dupa aceea au cantat doar in sapte concerte in iarna urmatoare deoarece Jukka si Emppu au fost in armata, iar Tarja a fost ocupata cu studiile. Nightwish si Spinefarm au prelungit contractul pentru a include trei discuri in loc de doua.
In aprilie 1998 a inceput filmarea primului videoclip, The Carpenter. A fost terminat la inceputul lunii mai si a fost cantat in Jyrki. Tuomas si Tarja au fost de asemenea intervievati in spectacol (asta s-a intamplat la sfarsitul lui mai). In vara urmatoare, basistul Sami Vänskä s-a alaturat formatiei. In timpul verii melodiile pentru urmatorul disc au fost repetate si formatia s-a dus la studio la inceputul lui august. Inregistrarile s-au terminat la sfarsitul lui octombrie. Pe 13 octombrie Nightwish a cantat in concert la Kitee din care s-a filmat videoclipul pentru Sacrament of Wilderness. Single-ul acestei melodii a aparut in 26 noiembrie iar noul album numit Oceanborn a aparut in 7 decembrie.
Toata lumea a fost surprinsa de succesul pe care l-a avut Oceanborn. A urcat pana pe locul cinci in topul oficial al albumelor din Finlanda si single-ul Sacrament of Wilderness a fost numarul unu in topul single-urilor saptamani intregi. In iarna anului 1999 Nightwish a cantat pe parcursul a trei luni in multe concerte in toata tara si a cantat in multe concerte. In primavara, Oceanborn a aparut in afara Finlandei. In Mai, formatia a inceput sa cante din nou in concerte, in turneu prin toata tara timpde doua luni si jumatate cantand in aproape toate marile festivale rock. In acelasi timpa fost inregistrat single-ul Sleeping Sun, care a fost scris pentru eclipsa din Germania. In august, single-ul a aparut in Germania, incluzand si melodiile Walking in the Air, Swanheart si Angels Fall First. Doar in Germania, single-ul s-a vandut in 15000 de exemplare intr-o luna. In august Nightwish a aflat ca Oceanborn si Sacrament of Wilderness a inregistrat record de vanzari. In acelasi timpa fost confirmat ca Nightwish va pleca intr-un tur de 26 de concerte prin Europa cu o formatie germana numita Rage.
La inceputul lui 2000 formatia s-a intors din nou in studio pentru a inregistra al treilea album. Am intrerupt munca din studio pentru a participa la calificarile finlandeze pentru a participa la Eurovision cu cantecul Sleepwalker. Nightwish a trecut de prima parte a calificarilor dar pozitia finala a fost a doua in ciuda castigarii etapei prin televoting.
Noul album, Wishmaster, a fost lansat in mai, iar Wishmaster Tour a inceput din Kitee, orasul resedinta al formatiei. Dupa concert fromatia a primit discul de aur pentru albumul Oceanborn si single-urile Sacrament of Wilderness, Walkig in the Air si Sleeping Sun. Nightwish a ajuns pe primul loc in topul albumelor vandute in Finlanda, si a stat pe aceasta pozitie pentru trei saptamani. In acele saptamani a atins deasemenea prin numarul de discuri vandute Discul de aur. Wishmaster a fost numit albumul lunii prin aprobarea publicului si a media de catre revista germana Rock Hard in numarul lor din 06/2000, trecand de discurile asteptate ale lui Bon Jovi si Iron Maiden.
Wishmaster a debutat deasemenea in topurile germane pe locul 21 si pe locul 66 in Franta. "Wishmaster World Tour", care a inceput din Kitee, a continuat cu marile festivale din Finlanda iar apoi cu America de Sud in Iulie 2000. Turul de trei sapatamani prin Brazilia, Chile, Argentina si Mexic s-a doveid a fi unul dintre cele mai reusite din experienta formatiei. Acesta a fost urmat de un concert la Wacken Open Air, BiebopMetal Fest si apoi primul tur european alaturi de Singery si Eternal Tears of Sorrow. In Noiembrie Nighwish a avut a cantat la doua concerte in Montreal, Canada.
Urmatorul proiect al Nightwish a inclus un DVD / VHS (caseta video) ce cuprindea un concert in timpreal doar pentru Finlanda. Concertul a avut loc la Tampere pe 29 Decembrie 2000. Materialul a fost lansat in Aprilie 2001 in Finlanda si apoi international in vara 2001. La sfarsitul spectacolului Nightwish a primit discul de platina pentru "Wishmaster" si discul de aur pentru sigle-ul "DeepSilent Complete".
In Martie 2001 Nightwish s-a retras din nou in studio pentru a inregistra o versiune a clasicei melodii a lui Gary Moore, "Over the Hills and Far Away", alaturi de alte doua cantece noi si un remake al melodiei "Astral Romance" de pe Angels Fall First. Lansarea in Finlanda a avut loc in Iunie 2001. Versiunea germana (Drakkar) a "Over the Hills and Far Away" a inculs si 6 melodii live alalaturi de cele partru cantece. "
Nightwish a prelungit contractul de inregistrari cu Spinefarm Regord cu un album, preconizat pentru vara anului 2002. Pe 4 Iunie 2002, a aparut al patrulea album Nightwish "Century Child". In Finlanda noul album a fost epuizat in magazine in doar cateva zile, fiind pentru mult timppe locul intai in topul calsamentelor de vanzari pentru albume, alaturi de single-ul "Ever Dream", La noua saptamani dupa lansare Century Child ajungea pe locul 2 in topul Finlandez, 23 in Germanaia si pe 34 in Austria.
La inceputul lui Septembrie, a aparut ideea unui nou DVD, a carui data de aparitie a fost intai propusa pentru 26 Mai 2003. Din nefericire suntem la a treia amanare pentru 8 Spetembrie. La inceputul lui 2003 (februarie) Century Child ajungea pe locul 1 in revistele de rock germane, iar formatia ajungea pe locul 3 in topul celor mai bune formatii.
Intre timpformatia este in vacanta de la sfarsitul anului trecut, iar Tarja isi continua studiile. In Noiembrie 2003 membrii formatiei vor incepe o noua seseiune de inregistrari pentru al cincilea album. Tot la inceputul aceste vacante, au aparut primele zvonuri ca formatia se va desparti. Cred ca ideea inregistrarii unui nou album in componenta de pana acum a distrus zvonurile acestea.

Theatres des Vampires Biography
Theatres des Vampires were born in 1994 from the ashes of Sepolcrum, a cult underground band of the first ?90?s. They were among the first bands with a sound that would be called Vampiric Metal by many later on. Their horror and gothic attitude was associated to an almost maniacal search of everything connected to the vampirism.. They had a coherent image, themes and atmospheres and a real cult was born among their fans immediately, a sort of religion, that made them follow the band everywhere and create many fans club all over the world.
In the years their sound, that first was strongly influenced by gothic symphonic Black Metal, then has evolved more and more in something that rarely has been played by other metal bands. It mixes different influences of gothic, electro music, classical music, opera and rock.
In few years Theatres des Vampires have created a personal style, uneasily listable, characterized by melancholic and crepuscular songs, but always powerful and catching, where the duet of countess Sonia Scarlet sensual vocals and the male vocals, melt them together in a sepulchral wedding. .
The band has produced 6 album in 10 years, always with the big English label Plastic Head, and has became more famous each year in Europe, Sud America and Russia.
The many concerts in big festivals all over the world witness this success. We can remember: Vampyria III in London in 1999, Gods of Metal in Italy in 2000, Gothic Treffen in Lipsia in 2003, Gotham in London in 2004.
In 2003 they played with Christian Death in a long European tour, and recorded an album with Valor of Christian Death and Gian Pyras of Cradle of Filth as special guests.
Their shows are always very attended and have been enriched in the years with fireworks, more and more sulphurous atmospheres and the presence ?out of line? of Scarlet. The band has often problems with the local laws of the countries where it plays.
In 2003 in Italy a bishop blessed and tried to exorcize the place where Theatres des Vampires played, and the new was published by Italian newspapers.
Since 2004 Sonia Scarlet has remained the only voice and the front girl of the band. Now she has not a secondary vocal role anymore and can show her talent. The shows of Theatres des Vampires have benefited from this and the fans are enthusiastic. Scarlet feels so involved during the concerts that often she makes scares on herself with razor blades to allow fans to drink by her, to share her immortality. In 2005 several English clubs forbade her to do this, because it violates the English laws against the incitement to suicide. But Theatres des Vampires aren?t frightened and go on with their live shows: theatrical, full of blood, sex, perversion, horror and lust.
Now, having a new deal with Aural Music Theatres des Vampires?ll publish the 18 November 2005 the new album ?Pleasure and Pain?; music critics already consider it as the best album of their career at the first listening for studio reports. The famous special guest that are present witness this. We?re talking about: Bruno Kramm from Das Ich, Flegias from Necrodeath, Dhiloz from Ancient, and members from Ensoph and Stormlord.
Distributors all over the Europe have bought the album and it is published with permission all over the world, in Sud America, USA, Russia, Japan.
